Agro-Farma, Inc. will break ground today on an expansion of its Chobani yogurt operation in Chenango County.
Agro-Farma set up shop five years ago in a 70,000-square-foot former Kraft manufacturing plant in South Edmeston. At the time, company President and Founder Hamdi Ulukaya said he hoped to employ 15 to 20 people that first year and 75 people by the company's fourth year.
At age five, Agro-Farma currently employs 200 people and will add 100 more along with its project to boost production, says Nicki Briggs, director of communications.
